Who we are

XC Media is a content studio in Mildura, Victoria, run as a sole trader business. If anything in this policy is unclear, email info@xcmedia.co and you'll get a straight answer.

What we collect

When you book a call or email us, we collect your name, your business name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, and anything you write in the booking form's open question. The website also records anonymous statistics about your visit through Google Analytics: which pages you looked at, roughly how long you stayed, the general region you're in, and whether you arrived from a search, a social link, or by typing the address. We never see your name or your IP address in those reports.

How we collect it

Three ways. Through the Cal.com booking form on our contact page, by direct email when you write to us, and automatically through Google Analytics while you browse this site. We don't buy contact lists and we don't collect information from anywhere else.

Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiry, run the discovery call, deliver the work you engage us for, and issue invoices. That's the whole list. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Who else handles it

Like most small studios, we run on a few well-known tools. Cal.com handles bookings. Google handles our calendar and email, and Google Analytics measures traffic to this site. Framer hosts this website. Notion is where we prepare invoices. Some of these companies store data on servers outside Australia, mostly in the United States.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry doesn't turn into work, we delete your details after 12 months. If you become a client, we keep your records for five years to meet Australian Taxation Office requirements, then delete them. Google Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.

Access, correction and deletion

Email info@xcmedia.co to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. We respond within 30 days.

Cookies

Framer sets a small number of functional cookies that keep the site working. Google Analytics sets two more, _ga and _ga_327CGCHJEP, so a returning visitor isn't counted as a new one every time. They expire after two years and they don't follow you to other websites. There are no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, and we don't share this data with advertisers. If you'd rather not be counted, private browsing or any tracker blocker will stop it, and Google publishes an opt-out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information. Accounts are secured, access is limited to the people doing the work, and we don't keep information we don't need. No one can honestly promise absolute security, so we won't.

Marketing

We don't send unsolicited marketing. If we ever start an email list, it will comply with the Spam Act 2003 and every email will have a working unsubscribe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the studio changes. The current version is always the one on this page.
